Mini Pocket Journal

It finally arrived today. I was in the market to replace my old black leather and very boring wallet. Just happened to come across this Lochby mini pocket journal and liked the whole idea behind this wallet. It’s far more durable than leather and it’s zippered to prevent spills from whatever is inside. With an additional tiny notebook and pen pocket is super cool. Although, if you are one of those people with bulging wallets loaded with a million cards then this is definitely not for you. I had to remove cards I don’t use. Definitely a minimalist wallet with 4 most used cards in the 3-fold slots. Health card and SS card behind the 3-fold slots. On the other side of wallet the big slot is my drivers license and car registration card. One thing that is mind boggling is the Dot Grid notebook, why “DOT GRID”? I’d rather have ruled lines for writing. Dot grid?

For now I am excited with new wallet, makes me feel like I am on some adventurous journey. Let’s see what happens in the future

Lockby took the best elements from Mini field journal, Pocket journal & Sidekick, then worked their wizardry miniaturising it, (making it smaller is very challenging from a manufacturing perspective i.e. sewing & stitch reinforcing within a much smaller spaces and corners), so it could be both Hip pocket & Front pocket size friendly. I found the Mini Pocket Journal isn't just a shrunken version of the original Pocket Journal the internal layout has been completely re-engineered to meet our current and predicted tomorrow's carry needs. I appreciate the raised external pen slot as it allows for a thicker pen options, plus if your fumbling in the dark for a pen, the raised bump makes easy to recognise by feel.

For me it's perfect!!! And zippered - so I won't loose anything & my carry is protected from dropping on wet grass, ground or mud - you know "because shit happens". I purchased two. 1 in Chocolate Brown because it's such a Heritage look and I love that look & 1 In Camo Black/Dark Charcoal because well it's my first in that colour. More traditional loadout for the Brown more edc/camping loadout for the Camo.

It fits in my front pockets and more importantly in my Hip pockets on my LAPD Tactical Flex Jeans [my preferred] with slight stretch (not just sold to law enforcement but to the general public). The hip pockets alow you to sit in a car driving for instant with glasses & phones with out bending or breaking them. My Mini Field Journal fits in the back pockets which ok…

I really like it. It perfectly fits a pen and a small notebook, along with 6 cards and cash. It is smaller than the standard pocket journal, but keep in mind it can get just as thick depending on how you pack it. Great for keeping things organized!
